The Restoration of Worship & Praise

See the article on the Tabernacle of David!

We are called to assist local churches in a city to establish 24 hour prayer, praise and worship in their city.  One church alone is hard pressed to do that, but local churches working together can.  We assist local churches create a dwelling place for our Lord in their city through CONECT.  If you would like to learn more about how you can establish 24 hour prayer, praise and worship in your city, click here.

  1. Lucifer was the worship leader in heaven until pride was found in his heart.

Ezekiel 28:12-15  Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.       Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God ; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.  (KJV)

Isaiah 14:12-16 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!   For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;  (KJV)

  1. God seeks a humble and obedient people to worship Him in Spirit  and in Truth.  Satan hates God’s people to worship Him because every time they do,  they remind him that he is no longer the worship leader.

John 4:24   God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Brenda-Dance.jpg (74056 bytes)Isaiah 43:18-21 "Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.  The beast of the field will honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen. This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise.

  1. God inhabits the praises of His people.

Psalm 22:3  But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel .

3427  yashab (yaw-shab');  a primitive root; properly, to sit down (specifically as judge. in ambush, in quiet); by implication, to dwell, to remain; causatively, to settle, to marry:   (praise makes a big chair for God  to come and sit in and act as judge)

  1. God’s dwells  in the midst of His peoples praises.   This place is also referred  to as  Zion, Mt. Zion or His holy hill.   Mt. Zion also refers to the New Testament Church.

Congregation.jpg (40241 bytes)Psalm 9:11   Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion : declare among the people his doings. (KJV)

Psalm 2:6-9  Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

1 Peter 2:6  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (KJV)

  1. To discover what all God wants to do in His church  today we need to look back at the origin of Mt. Zion

2 Samuel 5:7  Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion : the same is the city of David.

Psalm 9:14-16 That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion : I will rejoice in thy salvation. The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.  The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. (KJV)

Psalm 69:34-35  Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein.  For God will save Zion , and will build the cities of Judah : that they may dwell there, and have it in possession. (KJV)

Acts 15:16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

Amos 9:11-14 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:  That they may possess the remnant of Edom , and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.  And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel , and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. (KJV)

  1. King David was a man after God’s own heart.  He ministered to the Lord as a worshipper, a warrior, a priest and a king.   So what what kind of worshipper is God  looking for today?

kingdavid.jpg (19773 bytes)Acts 13:22   And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. (KJV)

Acts 15:16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: (KJV)

John 4:24   God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (KJV)

1 Samuel 16:7  But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.  (KJV)

1 Samuel 16:17-19  And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me.  Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.  Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which is with the sheep. (KJV)

  1. King David so loved the presence of God.  That he worshiped with his whole heart.  This pleases the Lord.  So how did King David express what was in his heart?

(KJV)

2 Samuel 6:1-5   Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel , thirty thousand.  And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.  And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.  And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.  And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals. (KJV)

2 Samuel 6:12-19  (also see 1 Chron. 15 – Levites are to carry the ark)  And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.  And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.  So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.  And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David , Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.   And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.  And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.  And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel , as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house. (KJV)

Then King David assigned people  to minister before the Lord continually.

1 Chronicles16:4-7  And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel :  Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;   Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.   Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

I Chronicles 24 and 25 lists  the divisions and the responsibilities for worship (offerings,  singers, musicians, gatekeepers, etc….)   David had it in his heart to worship the Lord 24 hours a day.

  1. Remember Psalm 22 and the definition of inhabits?  Zion is also a type of the Church.

(KJV)

1 Peter 2:6  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (KJV)

2 Samuel 5:7  Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion : the same is the city of David . (KJV)

Psalm 9:14-16  14 That I may tell of all Your praise In the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in Your salvation. 15 The nations have sunk down in the pit which they made; In the net which they hid, their own foot is caught. 16 The LORD is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. (NKJV)

Psalm 69:34-35  Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein.  For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession. (KJV)

(KJV)

  1. Praise is powerful.  It is also a weapon in the spirit.  It is the ruler’s staff and Judah means praise.

Psalm 108:8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; (KJV)

Dance-Mx.jpg (38563 bytes)Genesis 49:8-10 Judah , thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?  The sceptre shall not depart from Judah , nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. (KJV)

Psalm 110:1-3  The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.  The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion : rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.  Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. (KJV)

Psalm 149:1-9 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise hisDanceWcon2.jpg (76104 bytes) name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;  To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD. (KJV)
