Acts 15:13-17 And after they had become silent, James answered, saying, "Men and brethren, listen to me: 14 Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name. 15 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:
16'After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down;
I will rebuild its ruins,
And I will set it up; 17 So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD,
Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name,
Says the LORD who does all these things.' NKJV
We are in the midst of an Apostolic
Reformation and there are numerous things occurring due to the season we
are in. We see revelation springing forth in the midst of the church
as people realize that all of life is holy unto the Lord. Therefore,
they've begun to see their work and business as their ministry. They
see in scriptures such as Isaiah 60:5 that the wealth of the Gentiles is
to come to us and that God has given us power to get wealth in order to
establish his covenant (Deuteronomy 8:18). There is an
"anointing to spoil." (See Al Houghton's book,
Purifying the Altar) People are beginning to
see that they are to rule and reign and to establish the kingdom of God in
their sphere of influence. It is a time to begin to pastor your
business.
To help us understand what the
restoration of David's tabernacle might look like, lets take a look to see
what David's tabernacle looked like. Remember that the Old Testament
provides types and shadows and can prophesy what is to come. An
excellent resource for any study on the Tabernacle of David is "The
Tabernacle of David" by Kevin J. Conner.
Any study of the Tabernacle of David
will show that there were really two tabernacles. One tabernacle
dealt with a kingly anointing and one tabernacle dealt with the priestly
anointing.
The offices of the king and priest were separate in the Old Testament yet
brought together in the New Testament. The kingly anointing refers
to government, rule, dominion and authority whereas the priestly anointing
points to reconciliation, intercession and worship.
David was not only a king but he was
also a worshipper. He established a new order of worship as he
sought to build God a house. He so desired the presence and
communion with God. The order of worship established in David's
tabernacle replaced the worship found in the Tabernacle of Moses. It
was a type and shadow pointing to the New Testament. During the time
of these two tabernacles an order of worship was established to minister
unto the Lord. Once this was accomplished King David went out with
this army and expanded the kingdom. As he expanded the kingdom he
spoiled the enemy and acquired wealth. This wealth was used for the
next generation (Solomon) to build a dwelling place (Solomon's Temple) for
God.
There
is a Davidic generation today that God is calling forth. He
desires that we follow in David's footsteps. This is the
generation that has to pay a price and expand the kingdom.
Just as the spoil from Egypt was used to build the Tabernacle of
Moses and the spoil David acquired was used to build Solomon's
Temple, so shall the wealth of the Gentiles will be used to build
the house of God (the Church) today.
Our Lord is looking for those
today with the character whom he can entrust the anointing to spoil
(see Al Hougton's tape series on the Anointing
to Spoil and book on Purifying the Altar). These are those
who will expand the kingdom for His glory for the financing of the
end time harvest.

We desperately need the presence of God
(Exodus 33:15). The Ark of the Covenant was where the presence of
God was in the Old Testament. We need the presence of God for us to
go into battle and to subdue cities and kingdoms (Joshua 6:6).
The first thing David did after taking
Mt. Zion was that he fortified it and sought to bring the Ark of the
Covenant back to him (1 Chronicles 13). He set up a tent and
established a new order of worship where in God was ministered to 24 hours
a day (1 Chronicles 15- 17). After this, he then went out with his army
and subdued his enemies all around and he gathered the spoil in order to
enable the next generation (Solomon) to build the temple of the Lord (1
Chronicles 18 - 22).
So how does this apply today? Every person in the body of Christ needs to rule and reign in
order to establish the kingdom of God within their sphere of
influence and authority. Every saint needs to function in the kingly
anointing in their jobs, their business, their homes and their
governmental job. The most effective way to do that is to follow
David's example.
First, we need to minister to the Lord
and seek His presence personally and corporately. We need to be in
one accord just as they were in the book of Acts (Acts 1:14, 2:1, 2:46,
5:12). David established a new order of worship. He
assigned a certain number of Levites to minister unto the Lord 24 hours
per day. Why the Levites? Because that is what God choose to
do.
Numbers 8:19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the work for the children of Israel in the tabernacle of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel when the children of Israel come near the sanctuary."
NKJV
Numbers 18:6 Behold, I Myself have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel;
they are a gift to you, given by the LORD, to do the work of the tabernacle of meeting.
NKJV
Who can go into the presence of the Lord
today like Aaron did? Why every believer today has access to the
throne of Grace through the precious blood of Jesus. Every Christian
is part of the spiritual Aaronic priesthood today. So, who are the
type of the Levites in the New Testament?
Ephesians 4:8-13 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto
men. 9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the
fullness of Christ:
KJV
The five fold ministry is a type of
Levite. It says in 1 Chronicles 15:2, 12, 14 and 15 that the Ark of
the Covenant (presence of the Lord) was to be born on the shoulders of the
Levites. In scripture shoulder is symbolic of government.
So lets take a quick look to see how
they worshipped the Lord in David's Tabernacle. The Ark of the
Covenant was brought back via a procession. This procession included
King David as king and commander, the Elders of Israel, the Captains of
Israel, the High priests and the Chiefs and Levites, singers, musicians
and the whole congregation of Israel following (1 Chronicles 15), Psalm
87:7, Psalm 68:25). Once the Ark of the Covenant went out of the
Tabernacle of Moses, it never returned.
So what was the divine order of
worship? They were to worship in spirit and in truth. King
David was a man after God's own heart. He was a king and yet he
ministered unto the Lord as a priest. Yet, while he was out
performing his kingly duty he made sure that the Levites ministered unto
the Lord continuously (24 hours a day) They worshipped and served
the Lord through:
 | Singers and singing (1 Chronicles
15:16-27 & 25:1-7) |
 | Musicians and instruments (1
Chronicles 23:5, 25:1-7) |
 | Ministry of Levites before the Ark (1
Chronicles 16:6,6,37) |
 | Recording (1 Chronicles 16:4, 28:12,
19) |
 | Thanking the Lord (1 Chronicles 16:4,
8, 41) |
 | Praise (1 Chronicles 16:4, 36) |
 | Psalms (1 Chronicles 16:9, Psalms
98:6) |
 | Rejoicing and joy (1 Chronicles
16:10, 16, 25, 31) |
 | Clapping hands (Psalm 47:1, 98:8,
Isaiah 55:12) |
 | Shouting (1 Chronicles 15:28, Psalms
47:1, 5; Isaiah 12:6) |
 | Dancing (1 Chronicles 15:29; 2 Samuel
6:14, Psalms 149:3; Psalms 150:4) |
 | Lifting up hands (Psalms 134: 141:2)
(Lamentations 3:41) |
 | Worship (1 Chronicles 16:29, Psalms
29:1-2, 95:6) |
 | Seeking the Lord (1 Chronicles
16:10-11, 2 Chronicles 7:14) |
 | Spiritual sacrifices (Psalms 27:6, 1
Peter 2:3-5, Hebrews 13:15,16) |
 | Saying Amen (1 Chronicles 16:36) |
So Tim, what do you see? Well I am glad
you asked.
Establishing Houses of Prayer, Praise
& Worship in Cities
I see cities where
CONECT is implemented to help
churches work together in building a Wall of Prayer
and establish the Watch of the Lord.
This establishes a secure base of operations from which to
launch offensive operations. Zion was a stronghold. It was
David's secure base of operations.
In these cities the church becomes a "house of
prayer for all nations" as we pray and seek the Lord in one
accord. Prayer will be going on continuously
24 hours per day. This prayer watch will be accompanied by singers,
dancers, musicians and artists who will worship the Lord. In doing
so I believe that each city can create a place where the presence of God
will come to dwell. Once that place is established in each city,
then we will see great advances made in establishing the kingdom of God in
each city. Why?
Psalm 76:2 and Psalm 9:11
says that Zion is God's dwelling place. In Psalm 2 we see that God
puts His king in Zion. Zion was where where the Tabernacle of David
was. When King David set up the tabernacle with the ark of the
covenant he assigned Levites to minister unto the Lord 24 hours per
day. This creates a situation where Psalm 22:3 can occur.
Psalm 22:3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
KJV
If you study out what the
Hebrew words mean in Psalm 22:3 you understand that it says that praise
creates a place for God to come and sit as a judge. The Bible also
says that Judah is God's lawgiver and the scepter or rulers staff will
never depart from Judah (Psalm 60:7. 108:8, Genesis 49:10). I'd
encourage you to read Psalm 149 and Psalm 2.
As
prayer, praise and worship create a place for God to dwell a number of
things occur. First, the word of the Lord is easier to be heard and
answers arrive quicker (Daniel 10). The prophets or those standing
prayer watch will hear the strategies of the enemy like Elisha did in 2
Kings 6. The leaders will also take the spiritual intelligence
before the Lord like King Hezekiah did in order to determine what they
should do (Isaiah 37). Second, there is power that can be
projected (Psalm 149 & 2).
I see the leaders functioning very much
like military leaders who will systematically gather (steward) the
prophetic reports generated through increased prayer. These reports
will be consolidated by Communication Center Coordinators and presented concisely to the
leadership so that they can seek the Lord for His strategy for taking
their city. After seeking the Lord for His plan they will then move
out strategically and tactically to expand the kingdom. They will function and act like admirals,
generals and captains. They will be servant leaders seeking to help
each person fulfill their destiny by ensuring that each team member is
trained to minister in their business, their job, their home, and their
governmental office and provided all the support needed for them to
fulfill their destiny. As they are obedient not only will souls be
saved but wealth will come in as well in order finance the harvest and the
building of the kingdom. This is like the army or the foot soldiers.
They will emphasize primarily the kingly anointing (note: all believers
should function in both though).
In the same
place that the reports are gathered, there will be prayer, praise and
worship going on before he Lord 24 hours a day very similar to the worship
that was found in the Tabernacle of David. These who minister before
the Lord in this place will be like the air force. They will operate
primarily in the priestly anointing providing a prayer (air) cover for all
tactical and strategic operations. Both the kingly and the priestly
anointing are essential in order for us to fulfill all and we must be in
one accord.
Apostolic Ministry Center
The place described above is like a strategic
communication center and an armory. It becomes a five fold
ministry center or an apostolic equipping center. The name is not so
much the important thing as much as it is that the five fold church
leaders in a city pray,
work together to equip the believers to do the work of the
ministry.
The Moravians who launched a 24 hour a
day watch that lasted for over 100 years had a motto. That motto
was, no one works unless someone prays ("The Lost Art of
Intercession" by Jim Goll, page 123). This small church that
committed themselves to prayer, launched our modern day missionary
movement.
This is what I see coming forth in this
Apostolic Reformation. The Tabernacle of David will be set up so
that the rest of mankind can seek the Lord.
