So
what is CONECT really all about? It is about mobilizing the citizen
solider. This concept is highlighted in the history and culture of
the United States with the advent of the "minuteman." The
minuteman was a citizen in the newly formed republic and was ready at a
moments notice to defend his new country. Hence the term minuteman.
We
in the body of Christ are also citizens of a kingdom and our king is
Jesus.
Ephesians 2:19-22
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,....
We
are also soldiers in His army.
Josh 5:14
So He said, "No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come."
And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my Lord say to His servant?"
Heb 2:10 Bringing Many Sons to Glory, For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Rev 19:11-14 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
We
need to be prepared and ready to serve at a moments notice.
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
KJV
Mark 13:33
Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. NKJV
Apostolic
Operations - Everett Washington
A
youth pastor (Pastor Lori) in Sonrise Chapel felt led of the Lord to do an
outreach (youth soccer camp) on a certain street in Everett
Washington. The goal was to reach families with the gospel by
providing a soccer camp.
The
people involved in this evangelistic outreach are like the ground forces.
In
preparation for this outreach we (WMI) provided support through gathering
the spiritual intelligence and mobilizing prayer. Spiritual
intelligence was gathered through activities like meeting with the police
department, prayer walking the neighborhoods, and mobilizing prayer.
We discovered that this was the highest crime area in our county when it
came to domestic violence, vandalism and car thefts. Other crimes
that were prevalent dealt with drugs and prostitution.
In
this process we identified enemy strategies which helped us with prayer
targeting.
It
is our belief that the Lord places people where it pleases Him.
There were five other churches (3 Baptist, 1 Spanish, and 1 Foursquare
Church) on that street. We all have a desire to see the gospel
preached to every creature and to make disciples of all nations.
Therefore, we contacted them to make them aware of the outreach and to
mobilize more prayer in support of this evangelistic operation in their
neighborhood.
If
the folks doing the actual soccer camp were the ground forces, then all
who prayed are like the air forces (prayer forces). Some people
prayed in preparation and some came to pray during the event onsite.
They provided security around the field as they prayer walked.
Tragedy
Strikes
The
soccer camp started on a Monday. After it was over some of the youth
went to a pool. At this pool one of the youth leaders (young man
named Christian, age 20) ended up on the bottom of the pool and no one
noticed.
The
Citizen Soldier is Mobilized
Within
moments the phone lines buzzed and emergency personnel and prayer was
mobilized. Within about 5 to 10 minutes of the event occurring I received
a phone call from the head of the men's ministry. The prayer chain
at Sonrise was mobilized and I emailed many of you around the world.
Within moments I had received responses from ministers and saints in
various states who were praying. We were praying for resurrection of
this young man. Later, more responses came in as whole churches in
other parts of the world prayed as well.
After
a long time, the parents felt to commit Christian's soul into our Father's
hands. This was their only son.
The
prayer turned to comfort for the family and for the outreach. Pastor
Dan and many others could feel the support and could sense the peace of
God upon that soccer field.
Over
20 Souls Saved the Next Day
The
next day over twenty youth gave their heart to Jesus. These youth
live in one of the highest crime areas of Everett. Twenty souls came
into the kingdom of God that day.
Saints,
ministers and even whole churches from various states and countries such
as Kenya and Nigeria prayed during this time. They were citizen soldiers
who responded to this battle and they share in the spoils of war.
They share in joy of those souls who were saved.
The
outreach is still going on they day of this publication.
